About

Professor Chris Harrison

B_70830

I am a Trusted Thinking Partner and Executive Coach who helps senior leaders develop greater clarity, sound judgement and wisdom when facing difficult decisions and competing demands in an increasingly uncertain world.

Over more than four decades, I worked in senior leadership roles across healthcare, public services, academia and complex organisational systems.

Those experiences taught me that the quality of our decisions is often limited by the quality of our thinking. They also taught me that helping leaders and organisations think better is one of the most effective ways to improve organisations, systems, and ultimately outcomes for the people they serve.

I currently serve as Vice Chair of two large NHS Foundation Trust groups and provide advisory support to a specialist cancer centre.

My writing and research focus on better thinking, board governance and assurance, health policy, and the future of healthcare systems.

Professional Credentials

I am an accredited Executive and Senior Level Coach (ILM Level 7) and a member of the Association for Coaching (AC), the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) and the European Coaching Federation (ECF).

I am an Honorary Clinical Professor at the University of Manchester and have previously held an honorary professorial appointment at Imperial College London.

My qualifications include clinical medicine, public health, epidemiology and legal medicine.

I am a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health (FFPH), the Institute of Leadership (FIoL), the Royal Society of Medicine (FRSM), the Royal Society of Public Health (FRSPH) and the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).

I hold a Diploma in Corporate Governance and an Advanced Certificate in Health Services Governance.

I have undertaken additional specialist training in conflict management (accredited mediator), philosophy of healthcare (diploma), life coaching, existential coaching, and thanatology (end-of-life care)
